Archival Description
Section titled “Archival Description”The Bo Yi (猼訑) is an anomalous creature first documented in the Nanshan Jing (Classic of the Southern Mountains) section of the Shan Hai Jing. It is categorized as a high-level mythic entity with peculiar physiological structures that defy conventional biological classification.
“There is a beast on Ji Mountain. It resembles a sheep but possesses nine tails and four ears. Its eyes are located not on its face, but upon its back.” — Fragmentary translation, Nanshan Jing.
Anatomical Anomalies
Section titled “Anatomical Anomalies”- Ocular Positioning: The entity’s visual sensory organs are embedded within the dorsal region (the back). This grants the creature a 360-degree field of perception, effectively nullifying traditional stealth or ambush tactics employed by predators or researchers.
- Morphology: While it shares a silhouette with common ovine species, its multi-appendage structure (nine tails) and redundant auditory capacity (four ears) suggest a highly specialized evolution, potentially linked to hyper-sensitivity toward metaphysical disturbances.
Behavioral Logic & Containment
Section titled “Behavioral Logic & Containment”When the entity is in an active state, the following protocols must be observed to maintain site equilibrium:
- Law of Resonance: All personnel must adhere to the fundamental physical and metaphysical laws established by the Chinese Classic containment parameters.
- Exclusion Zone: A mandatory警戒 (Warning) radius of 50 meters is established around the entity’s primary habitat.
- Psychological Effect (Passive): Historical records suggest that possessing a part of the creature (or a representation thereof) induces a state of fearlessness (佩之不畏). Whether this is a chemical pheromone release or a memetic hazard remains under investigation.
Modern Anomaly Adaptation
Section titled “Modern Anomaly Adaptation”Research Note: As of current archival records, there is no standardized modern containment protocol for the Bo Yi in an urbanized setting.
Researchers are actively encouraged to submit findings regarding the creature’s potential manifestation in modern “thin spots” or reality-warping hotspots. Current theories suggest the Bo Yi may act as a psychological anchor in high-stress reality scenarios, functioning as a stabilizing entity for sentient observers.
If you encounter a nine-tailed ovine specimen with dorsal eyes, do not attempt physical restraint. Maintain the 50-meter perimeter and wait for specialized MTF (Mobile Task Force) units to arrive.
