The Draugr (Old Norse: draugr; plural draugar) is a physical manifestation of a deceased individual who retains consciousness and corporeal form within their burial site. Unlike standard spectral apparitions, the draugr possesses immense physical strength, the ability to increase its mass at will, and a lingering tether to the mortal coil that defies biological death.

When the entity enters an active state, the following protocols are observed:

  1. Law of Physicality: The entity must adhere to the fundamental occult physics established by the Global Archives. Despite being undead, it occupies physical space and is subject to kinetic impact.
  2. Perimeter Alert: A mandatory 50-meter exclusion zone must be established upon the detection of a potential burial site or reported sighting.
  3. Territoriality: The draugr is strictly bound to its “haugr” (barrow) or the immediate vicinity of its physical remains. Trespassers are treated as intrusive threats to the entity’s hoarded treasures or spiritual rest.

In the context of contemporary anomalous research, the Draugr is classified as a Class-V Reanimated Corpse. While ancient texts suggest the entity requires simple physical burial to suppress, modern investigative logs indicate that the draugr can potentially manifest in urban environments where “symbolic burial” (such as the burial of personal mementos or cultural artifacts) has occurred.

Researcher Note: Recent scans suggest the Draugr does not necessarily “rot.” Instead, it undergoes a process of ossification. If you encounter an entity exhibiting extreme strength and an inability to be incapacitated by conventional small arms, retreat immediately and report to the local containment team.

Status: Data Incomplete. Researchers are requested to append findings regarding the following:

  • Potential methods for “Permanent Severance” (Beyond decapitation).
  • Documentation of “Urban Draugr” occurrences in non-Scandinavian regions.
  • Analysis of the entity’s apparent ability to manipulate local atmospheric pressure during active states.
