Nergigante is a massive, highly muscular draconic entity characterized by its obsidian-colored, metallic-like hide and an ever-shifting armament of spikes. Unlike typical fauna within the Monster Hunter ecological system, Nergigante defies conventional biological limitations through a process of near-instantaneous cellular regeneration.

“The spikes are not merely defensive armor; they are the creature’s lifeblood. When they break off, they harden into diamond-hard projectiles and regrow almost immediately. To engage a Nergigante is to fight an organism that is actively evolving while it attempts to dismantle your existence.” — Field Researcher Log #77-B

  • Regenerative Spikes: The entity is covered in thousands of dark, keratin-like spines. These spines cycle through growth stages: white (brittle/soft), black (hardened/impenetrable), and eventually shatter upon impact to unleash maximum kinetic damage.
  • Musculature: The physical density of the entity suggests it is adapted for high-gravity environments, allowing it to exert force capable of leveling localized topography.
  • Reproductive Mechanism: Nergigante reproduces asexually. Fragments of its discarded spikes that contain viable genetic material can theoretically gestate into a new, smaller iteration of the entity if left in a bio-rich environment for an extended duration.

When the entity is detected in an active state, the following containment protocols must be strictly enforced:

  1. Environmental Harmonization: Personnel must strictly adhere to the physical and metaphysical laws inherent to the Monster Hunter ecosystem to avoid triggering a feedback loop.
  2. Exclusion Zone: A minimum defensive perimeter of 50 meters is required at all times.
  3. Predatory Response: Nergigante is a specialist predator. It exclusively hunts and consumes other Elder Dragons or high-energy anomalous entities. It possesses a “bio-magnetism” for entities with high internal energy signatures.

SCP/Wiki Integration Note: While the entity remains securely within the Monster Hunter reality stream, local manifestations (often referred to as “Ghost Echoes”) have been reported in sectors containing high concentrations of metaphysical energy.

Research Request: Archivists are currently seeking input regarding Nergigante’s behavior in contemporary urban settings. If a breach occurs, is standard containment sufficient, or does the entity’s regenerative capability necessitate reality-anchor deployment? Submit findings to the Sub-Level 4 Database.
