Entity Overview
Section titled “Entity Overview”The Inextinguishable Ravings—often referred to by specialized containment units as “The Mad Babble”—is not a physical entity in the traditional, biological sense. It exists as a persistent, self-replicating conceptual corruption. Originating from the outer reaches of the Lord of the Mysteries cosmology, it represents the absolute erosion of logic through the medium of sound.
“To hear the Ravings is not to listen to a voice; it is to have your psyche rewritten by a language that was never meant for human comprehension.”
Appearance and Manifestation
Section titled “Appearance and Manifestation”The entity possesses no corporeal form. It manifests exclusively through auditory or conceptual intrusion. Witnesses describe the onset of an event as a sudden, localized drop in ambient noise, followed by an overwhelming cacophony of overlapping voices speaking in dead languages, mathematical proofs that end in insanity, and secrets that cause the listener’s internal “anchors” to fail.
Behavioral Logic & Containment Protocols
Section titled “Behavioral Logic & Containment Protocols”When the entity is active, the following systemic rules apply:
- Reality Anchoring: All containment personnel must adhere to strict Lord of the Mysteries metaphysical laws. Physical shielding is useless; only mental shielding (via protective artifacts or ritualistic suppression) provides a 50-meter buffer.
- The 50-Meter Rule: The entity’s primary “ravage” radius is pegged at 50 meters. Beyond this, the ravings lose their cognitive-corruption density, appearing only as low-frequency static.
- Loss of Control: Exposure is classified as a terminal cognitive failure. Once an individual begins to repeat the Ravings, they are considered a vector for infection and must be quarantined immediately.
Modern Anomaly Adaptation
Section titled “Modern Anomaly Adaptation”In the context of the contemporary anomalous world, the Inextinguishable Ravings pose a unique challenge for digital security. Researchers speculate that if the audio signature is encoded into binary, it may be capable of causing “logical corruption” in sentient artificial intelligences or highly complex neural-net systems.
Current Research Note: Archivists are currently investigating if the Ravings can be stored within vacuum-sealed non-digital media (analog tape or vinyl) to prevent remote transmission. If you find documentation regarding ‘The Mad Babble’ manifesting in modern telecommunications, please update the Repository immediately.
Status: Active. Containment integrity is currently stable but under heavy review. Do not attempt to transcribe the audio.
