Archival Overview
Section titled “Archival Overview”Tsathoggua, often referred to as “The Sleeper of N’kai,” is a deity of immense, ancient, and gluttonous proportions. Unlike many of the more malicious Great Old Ones, Tsathoggua represents an primal, biological indifference. Existing primarily in the subterranean darkness of N’kai, he is described as a gelatinous, toad-like monstrosity capable of shifting his mass into various nightmare-inducing configurations.
Behavioral Logic & Manifestation
Section titled “Behavioral Logic & Manifestation”When this entity enters an active state, the local reality metrics fluctuate wildly. Archivists must adhere to the following protocols to maintain a baseline of sanity and physical continuity:
- Law of Conservation: The entity is bound by the fundamental physical and occult laws established within the Lovecraftian framework; however, he is known to treat space-time as a malleable plaything when hungry.
- Standard Alert Radius: 50 meters. Do not cross this threshold without Class-IV cognitive shielding.
- Feeding Patterns: The entity prefers stillness. Do not approach if you detect an unnatural atmospheric pressure drop or the scent of subterranean lichen and ozone.
Modern Anomaly Adaptation
Section titled “Modern Anomaly Adaptation”In the context of the contemporary containment paradigm, Tsathoggua remains a “dormant-but-observant” threat. While he rarely interacts with human affairs directly, his influence permeates the occult underground, often manifesting as whispers in the dreams of those prone to exploring forgotten, cavernous environments.
“To look upon Tsathoggua is not to see a god, but to see the living embodiment of the void between the stars, given a form that would make a toad weep with terror.” — Recovered field notes from the N’kai Expedition, 1928.
Researcher’s Note
Section titled “Researcher’s Note”The current containment protocols are speculative at best. Given the entity’s ability to transition between physical dimensions, “containment” is effectively redefined as “appeasement through isolation.” Any researcher seeking to expand upon the modern containment of Tsathoggua—specifically regarding his manifestations in modern urban sewers or deep-crust mining facilities—is instructed to file a formal request with the Department of Outer-Dimensional Logistics.
Status: Monitoring. Do not disturb the Sleeper.
