“The wind does not whistle in the Andean foothills during a full moon; it beats. It beats with the rhythm of heavy, leathery ears carving through the dark. If you hear the cry—‘tué, tué’—do not look up. That is not a bird.”
描述 (Description)
Section titled “描述 (Description)”The Chonchon is a malevolent manifestation associated with the Kalku (Mapuche dark sorcerers). It is not a biological species in the traditional sense, but rather a ritualistically severed human head that operates as an autonomous, supernatural entity.
- Appearance: The entity manifests as a human head, typically preserved in a state of necrotic rigor. It lacks a torso or limbs; in their place, two enormous, hairless ears extend from the cranium, functioning as leathery, functional wings that allow for silent, high-speed aerial movement.
- Nature: During the nocturnal hours, the Kalku applies a magical ointment to the neck, triggering a metaphysical detachment. The head separates from the body, leaving the host in a comatose state while the Chonchon hunts. It specializes in tracking the lingering vitality of the sick and terminal, feeding upon the final vestiges of their life force.
行为逻辑 (Behavioral Logic)
Section titled “行为逻辑 (Behavioral Logic)”When the entity is in its active phase, it adheres to specific occult constraints inherent to the Mapuche energetic framework:
- Acoustic Tethering: The entity’s vocalization—tué, tué—is not merely a sound; it is a resonant frequency intended to locate necrotic energy signatures within a residential structure.
- Proximity Hazard: The effective detection range is approximately 50 meters. Entering this radius while the entity is hunting significantly increases the risk of “life-draining” transference.
- Physical Integrity: If the grounded body of the Kalku is disturbed or repositioned while the head is airborne, the Chonchon may suffer immediate physiological collapse or permanent displacement.
现代异常收容改编 (Modern Anomaly Adaptation)
Section titled “现代异常收容改编 (Modern Anomaly Adaptation)”In the context of the contemporary anomalous landscape, the Chonchon represents a failure of traditional containment. While the original mythology suggests destruction via the desecration of the host body, modern urban environments present new challenges:
- Containment Note: Field agents are advised to monitor for anomalous “headless” comatose patients in clinical settings within the Patagonia region. If a Chonchon incident is confirmed, the primary objective is to locate the biological host body and initiate a re-bonding ritual or standard neutralization.
- Request for Research: Any researcher with access to containment logs regarding biological-metaphysical separation is requested to append their findings to this file. Current data on whether the Chonchon can sustain itself in high-density urban zones remains speculative.
Archivist Note: Keep the lights on. The Mapuche night is longer than you think.
