The Kele are a class of malevolent spirits deeply embedded within the indigenous folklore of the Siberian and Chukchi regions. Historically feared as the root cause of plagues, sudden madness, and terminal misfortune, these entities do not merely exist within the terrestrial plane—they operate as parasites of the spirit realm, perpetually hunting for the tethered essence of the living.

“The Kele do not hunger for flesh, though they may wear it. They hunger for the vibration of the soul, seeking to peel the spirit away from the bone.” — Fragment from the Frost-Walker Journals

The Kele lack a stable corporeal form, relying on the perception of the observer to anchor their presence. Archival records suggest three primary manifestation modes:

  • The Incorporeal Void: Invisible to the naked eye, detectable only through a localized drop in ambient temperature and the sudden erratic behavior of local fauna.
  • The Flayed Humanoid: A terrifying, multi-limbed entity appearing to lack an epidermal layer, exposing raw musculature and rhythmic pulsating veins.
  • The Abyssal Hound: A lupine monstrosity, often larger than any natural canine, characterized by eyes that reflect no light and shadows that detach from its feet to creep toward potential prey.

When an active incursion is confirmed, personnel are reminded that the Kele adhere to the archaic laws of Siberian metaphysical geometry.

  1. Reality Anchoring: All interactions must adhere to the standard physics/occult protocols established for trans-dimensional entities.
  2. Exclusion Zone: A baseline perimeter of 50 meters must be maintained at all times to prevent the “spirit-lure” effect, which can induce temporary paralysis in field researchers.
  3. Shamanic Intervention: Modern containment strategies suggest that when conventional technology fails, the assistance of an entity-specialist or a trained practitioner of the shamanic arts is required to perform “Soul-Retrieval” or “Boundary-Locking” rites to neutralize the entity’s foothold.

Current research into the Kele suggests a potential correlation between their ancient appearances and modern localized “glitch” phenomena in remote northern outposts.

Researcher Note: We are currently monitoring reports of rhythmic thumping heard against the outer hulls of research stations during blizzards. Could this be a modern mechanical adaptation of the Kele’s hunt? Requesting further clearance to investigate the spirit-tether properties of the Kele in the age of digital surveillance.

Status: Under investigation. All field researchers are advised to carry cold-iron and high-frequency auditory dampeners when traversing the tundra.
