The Great Race of Yith: Temporal Displacements
The Great Race of Yith
Section titled “The Great Race of Yith”The Yithians, colloquially known as the Great Race, represent one of the most intellectually daunting anomalies within the Cthulhu Mythos. Unlike the chaotic, destructive deities typical of the outer cosmos, the Yithians are defined by their mastery of temporal mechanics and collective consciousness.
Entity Attributes
Section titled “Entity Attributes”- Entity Name: Yithians
- Classification: The Great Race of Yith
- Origin: Cthulhu Mythos (H.P. Lovecraft et al.)
- Containment Class: Euclid
- Threat Level: 5 (High - Cognitive/Temporal Hazard)
- Alignment: Neutral
- Primary Tags: #Deity, #Lovecraftian, #Temporal-Anomaly
“To perceive the Yithian is to understand that history is not a line, but a library—one that they have been re-shelving for millions of years.”
Biological & Physical Architecture
Section titled “Biological & Physical Architecture”The Yithian biological form is a marvel of non-terrestrial evolution. During their occupancy of their native planet, Yith, they manifested in a distinct physical structure:
- Cone-shaped Base: A resilient, tapered torso roughly ten feet tall, allowing for structural stability.
- Appendage Array: Four distinct, extendable limbs protruding from the apex:
- Claw-arms: Used for precise manipulation of advanced instruments and scholarly scrolls.
- Trumpet-organs: Specialized red trumpets used for sensory input or communication.
- The Spherical Head: A sensory node containing three multifaceted eyes, capable of perceiving spectra beyond the human visual range.
Behavioral Logic & The Temporal Imperative
Section titled “Behavioral Logic & The Temporal Imperative”As chronicled in the Pnakotic Manuscripts, the Yithians possess the singular ability to project their consciousness across the fourth dimension. When faced with extinction, they do not die; they migrate. By mentally displacing the inhabitants of future or past civilizations, they effectively “possess” other species to preserve their vast, accumulated library of universal history.
Operational Protocols:
- Physical Law Compliance: All temporal shifts adhere to the strict causality loops governed by the Lovecraftian Detailed framework.
- Containment Perimeter: A 50-meter radius must be maintained to mitigate potential psychological bleed-through or accidental mental displacement events.
Modern Anomaly Adaptation
Section titled “Modern Anomaly Adaptation”In the context of the contemporary anomalous landscape, the Yithians present a unique challenge to containment facilities.
- The Displacement Risk: Researchers are advised to monitor for sudden shifts in historical data or sudden “deja vu” spikes in regional populations.
- Data Integrity: Given the Yithian obsession with preserving knowledge, any sudden alteration in ancient texts or digital archives should be treated as a potential site-infiltration event.
There are currently no recorded permanent containment solutions for a conscious projection of this magnitude. Current protocols focus on Observation and Disinformation—blending Yithian influence into pop-culture archives to ensure that accidental human witnesses are dismissed as conspiracy theorists.
Archivist Note: If you encounter an individual demonstrating knowledge of events that have not yet occurred, initiate standard Cognitive Hazard Protocol 7-Beta immediately. Do not attempt to engage in philosophical debate with the entity.
