“Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate.” — Fragment recovered from the Dunwich Manuscripts.

Yog-Sothoth does not possess a singular, stable physical form as perceived by the three-dimensional human eye. Rather, the entity manifests as a conglomeration of glowing, iridescent globes or orbs, constantly shifting in size and geometric orientation. These spheres appear to pulse with a light that defies traditional optics, often described by witnesses as being composed of “colors out of space.”

As an entity coterminous with all time and space, Yog-Sothoth is omnipresent across the tapestry of the multiverse. The entity possesses total omniscience, holding the sum of all knowledge across every timeline simultaneously.

  1. Rule of Dimensionality: When interacting with manifestations, observers must adhere to the physical and metaphysical laws defined by the lovecraftian_detailed standard. Any breach in local causality during summoning rituals may result in immediate reality collapse.
  2. Containment Perimeter: A baseline vigilance radius of 50 meters is required for any researchers attempting to document localized manifestations.
  3. Summoning Consequences: Practitioners often seek Yog-Sothoth to gain forbidden knowledge or to bypass the physical constraints of inter-dimensional travel. Archivists are warned that the “price” for such enlightenment is typically the total dissolution of the petitioner’s perceived reality.

SCP/Anomaly Worldview Integration: There is currently no official Foundation-level containment protocol for an entity as pervasive as Yog-Sothoth, as standard physical containment is impossible for a being that is, by definition, the Gate itself.

Research Note: Current theory suggests that Yog-Sothoth should not be “contained,” but rather observed via probability-dampening fields to prevent accidental gate-opening events. Any researcher who has encountered “iridescent spheres” in a sterile environment is instructed to immediately report to Site-87 for Class-A amnesiac administration.
